March 2020 - The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) would like to provide you with important information regarding your public water system and preparing for and responding to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak A centralized website has been organized at https://www.tceq.texas.gov/response/covid-19 to make resouces and guidance more readily available to you. The website contains up-to-date information concerning drinking water compliance, technical assistance, public water system guidance, and other available resources related to drinking water.
State and federal regulations have established treatment requirements for public water systems that prevent waterborne pathogens such as viruses from contaminating drinking water. COVID-19 is a type of virus that is particularly susceptible to disinfection and standard treatment and disinfection processes are expected to be effective. The TCEQ is emphasizing the importance of maintaining adequate disinfectant treatment at your public water system in accordance with TCEQ's rules (minimum 0.2 mg/L free chlorine or 0.5 mg/L chloramine measured as total chlorine) to ensure continued health protection of drinking water.

January 2019 - Beginning in 2019, the JWSC will require proof of legal entity in order for the water membership to be listed in the name of a business. If you are unable to provide proof of legal business entity, or choose not to, you may simply put the water into your name. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
December 2018 - The JWSC will be converting to a FREE CHLORINE treatment schedule this month. This will effectively remove all added ammonia from our water and will, temporarily, affect the taste and odor of the water while the mix of the two treatments passes through the system. This water IS NOT HARMFUL, and DOES NOT NEED TO BE BOILED. It should only take a few weeks for the conversion to be complete, at which time, we will go forward with our ammonia-less treatment. We believe that this option is a healthier option for our members and ask for your patience during this process.

May 2007 - The JWSC Board of Directors voted at the May 8, 2007 Board meeting to increase the Meter Set/Reconnect fee from $35.00 to $55.00, due to recent drastic increases in meter prices.

April 2005 - The Jonestown Water Supply Corporation has recently been awarded the honor of 1ST PLACE in the BEST TASTING WATER CONTEST, hosted each year at the Texas Rural Water Association (TRWA) Annual Convention. If your going to be out of town for more than a few days, it's a good idea to turn off your water to prevent damage from burst washing machine lines, leaking water heaters, etc. (Use the valve on your side of the meter.)
