IMPORTANT UPDATE – Boil Water Notice Lifted – Water is Now Safe; Please Continue Conserving
BOIL WATER NOTICE LIFTED
Jonestown
29 January 2026 3:00 PM
We are pleased to announce that the Boil Water Notice issued on 27 January 2026 around 5:00pm for members in JWSC service area has been officially lifted as of 2:00PM on January 29, 2026.
The water is now safe for all uses, including drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes/food, and preparing baby formula. Laboratory testing has confirmed that the water meets all state and federal drinking water quality standards.
This lift follows successful repairs to the raw water line water main, restoration of system pressure and satisfactory test results from certified labs.
What You Should Do Now:
- You no longer need to boil tap wateror use bottled water for consumption.
- Throw out any ice and Flush ice makers, water filters, and any appliances connected to the water line as needed.
Please Continue to Conserve Water
While the immediate emergency has passed, we kindly ask residents to maintain voluntary water conservation efforts through to Friday mid-day to allow for any flushing that may be necessary due to air. Recent repairs and system flushing can temporarily affect pressure and supply stability, and conserving helps ensure reliable service for everyone.
Easy ways to keep conserving:
- Take shorter showers (aim for 5 minutes or less).
- Run dishwashers and washing machines only when full. (I’m sure this won’t be a problem as they have been stacking up) lol!
- Turn off faucets while brushing teeth, shaving, or washing produce.
- Fix leaks right away (a dripping faucet can waste hundreds of gallons).
- Limit non-essential outdoor watering.
Your continued cooperation helps protect our shared water resources and prevents future advisories—thank you! Continue to recommend to neighbors to sign up for alerts!!

01/28/26 12pm:
We are still waiting for system pressure to be restored (conserving water is the quickest way to do this). Once that is restored, water samples will be taken and sent to the lab. When results are received, the boil water notice will be lifted. We expect all this to be taken care of by Friday morning.

01/28/26 8am:
JWSC has been operating at full capacity since the raw water line was repaired yesterday evening, Service has been restored to most of the membership. However, we are still requesting that you use water only for essential purposes, as we still have members without water. Excessive use of water will result in a service delay to those still without. It is recommended that once you start to see a little pressure, that you evacuate the air from your lines, and use water only for essential purposes. We apologize that the previous date and time of the last alert was not updating on the notice. The boil water notice was not in effect until yesterday January 27th at 5pm and is still in effect.
- "Do not drink the water without boiling it first."
- "Bring all water to a rolling boil for at least two minutes".
- Water must be boiled for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and washing dishes.
- This notice is being issued for the loss of pressure in the system.
- This notice is for any members that receive water from the Jonestown WSC.Please contact our office for any further questions at 512-267-7144
