Winter storm to impact the Lago Vista, Jonestown, and Point Venture area Wednesday into Thursday with lingering impacts through the weekend.

Difficult travel is expected for many areas and power outages are likely due to ice accumulations and gusty winds.  Please do not attempt to travel icy roads.  

Prolonged cold temperatures remain below freezing until Saturday afternoon.

Widespread life-threatening wind chills Thursday / Friday / Saturday morning.

When Ice storms coat power lines, high winds can lead to lines that bounce and buck around. The weight can cause the powers lines to break.  This is a dangerous situation.  Please stay clear of the power lines and dial 911 to advise of the situation.
